No football World Cup for Russia

FIFA and UEFA have banned all Russian teams from all international football matches until further notice. This decision was made following the Russian attack on Ukraine. Russia's participation in the upcoming World Cup seems to be out of the question.

The Russian Football Federation is outraged and speaks of discrimination. Russia was still in the race for a World Cup ticket.

All Russian Football teams and the national football team are banned. Spartak Moscow was drawn against RB Leipzig in the dollarpa league at the end of February. Spartak was the only Russian team still active in the dollarpese football tournament.

World Cup boycott Russia

Russia had not yet qualified for the 2022 World Cup and was still in the race to get to the World Cup. In the World Cup Playoffs would Russia come out against Poland. Should Russia have won that diptych, a meeting would have followed against the winner of Sweden against the Czech Republic.

Poland has also said it will not take on Russia. Also, the Czech Republic and Sweden, in the event of a win by the Russians, the possible next opponent, refused to play football against Russia.
