The World Cup ball was presented in Qatar where Friday the World Cup draw will take place. The World Cup ball has fierce klNZDen. They are the klNZDen of the Qatari flag and the traditionally white Arab clothing. Adidas has been the supplier of the World Cup ball since 1970.
Fastest ball ever
Adidas claims it is the fastest ball ever. The Adidas 2022 World Cup ball will be on sale on the Adidas website from March 30, 2022 and will be in stores from april 13.
World Cup ball goes around the world
It is planned that the World Cup ball will go around the world and visit cities such as Riyadh, Mexico City, New York, London, Berlin and Paris. Adidas connects the visit of the World Cup ball and the cities with social sports projects. For example, in the capital of Saudi Arabia (Riyadh), a training ground is being built where women can play football.
1% for charity
Adidas has indicated that 1 percent of sales of the World Cup ball will go to the Common Goal foundation. This foundation was founded several years ago by the Spanish footballer Juan Mata.
The foundation finances football projects for children who are struggling and is committed to a “sustainable future and equality for all”.
Professional footballers and trainers can join by donating (at least) 1 percent of their salary to the common goal foundation. Some well-known names who have joined are Vivianne Miedema, Giorgio Chiellini, Andre Onana, Megan Rapinoe, Jürgen Klopp, Cyriel Dessers, Julian Nagelsmann and UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin.
